Nelson Mandela, 1918-2013

Tribute to a legendary man of humility, Mandiba!

We have lost a heroic and inspirational man in Nelson Mandela. He was a visionary leader not only for the people of south Africa, but also, for people around the world who were given hope when they possess little else of anything.

Nuts for life!

EyeReport, Africa - Tanzania, Arusha:

The Maasai Jumping Dance ceremony, which is performed by young Maasai warriors. The warriors take turns jumping straight up in the air from a standing position, while their peers chant in a circle around them. Warriors demonstrate their strength and agility in this way.....the height they attain is unbelievable!

Far from over

EyeReport, Africa - Mali, Segou:

This little girl's distended belly and coppery-tones in her hair show that, like 40% of all kids under 5 in Mali, she is malnourished. 50% of all infant deaths in Mali are tragically due to malnutrition...which is a lot when you consider that half of the entire population is under 15....too many kids don't make it to their sweet 16.

I am doing it for charity!

EyeReport, Africa, Zambia.... In a dark moment I ask, "How can anyone bring a child into this world?" And the answer rings clear, "Because there is no other world, and because the child has no other way into it." ~Robert Brault

Green! you have a marvelous grasp of the obvious

EyeReport, Africa - South western Zambia

Think Green!

• Use hand dryers instead of paper towels to dry your hands within public toilets if they have them. Even though the electricity that powers electric dryers generates greenhouse gases, the production of paper towels is twice as energy intensive and creates more greenhouse gases, not to mention landfill, overall.
