JPS Finally Shocks Politicians

they are using the same services like everyone else and even while the paying customers are trying to cut back on usage the illegal customers are most times overusing the system. After years of out cry from the legal customers Jamaica public Service decided to put an end to the “Thiefery” by scheduling lock off of services to areas where high theft of electricity was reported based on their findings. At first it was business at usual as persons thought the light company was merely having a problem with their system. Within days all hell broke lose when JPS announced that it was deliberately cutting off power to the affected areas, taking in to consideration the house of parliament which had experienced the power lock down which had its members fanning and sweating profusely in their jackets and ties and the women of the house had makeup looking ruffled as they endured the heat. So I guess the situation finally reached Gordon House door way.

The light and power company then captured the full attention of the media with its brazen attempt to get the government to intervene and as a legal unaffected customer I understood the cries of the light company and the cries of the legal customer. To sum up the situation the paying customers have been constantly complaining of the excessive bills they received, the light company was having a constant battle removing illegal connections in communities labeled a “Garrisons”, (PAUSE) might i add that the thiefry of electricity is not limited to garrisons but is also found in uptown areas as well however attentionis only dfrawn to the innercity communities, (MOVING ALONG) so if the politician are affected they will no doubt start speaking on behalf of the people legal customer and force them to address the illegal customers and in doing so the light and power company called upon the politicians to assist in the removal of these illegal connection and help to regularize these persons.

Now what a sticky position the politicians have been placed in. Which politician will accompany the light company to remove such connections in any community without fear of losing his or her seat in the next election? Which politician will take the first walk?

So good Job Jamaica Public Service, yes the good had to suffer for the bad but your strategy to get the government to finally step in did work.

There maybe light at the end of the tunnel after all.
