I Will Praise Thee

On Friday November 18, 2011, seven days after the launching of http://dabluepages.com on 11/11/11 @ 11, there were no members in DaBlue. How could there be? It was being created privately and the world had no knowledge of its creation, so in order for that to happen you will have to start spreading the word and inviting others. I thought I would start inviting my friends and family members by telephone to Do DaBlue.

 No Clue

One such invite was my Dad who at the time had never been on the internet and had no clue what Facebook or DaBlue was about. He however acknowledged that he heard about the FB group What Did Blue Do For You (a group that I created on Thursday May 26, 2011) at the funeral of a friend (on Saturday October 29, 2011) as the tributes were being read and wanted to know more about the group. I explained the objectives of DaBlue and how it was a community of Doers trying to raise the consciousness of others and encourage them to start creating a legacy. I also explained that the community had a goal of getting the word out to a symbolic 2012 members from around the word by the year 2012. He expressed that he wanted to be a part of it and would do so once he gained access to the internet and understand how to navigate his way around. This is however not the story I want to tell, but it lays the foundation for the real story.

"All My Members Were Written"

The real story is that after he expressed he wanted to be a part of DaBlue, he said he had to get back to his morning devotional (he reads a different chapter everyday). I said, "Dad I would like to hear the scripture you are reading this morning." He said "Truly?" You would like me to read it to you?" I said, "Yes, please go ahead…" He, said "Hold on let me get my glasses." He came back to the phone and started to read as if he was on the pulpit. "This morning's scripture is from Psalms 139 verses 1-18". As he read I calmly listened. When he got to the end, my antennas went up. I asked, "Dad could you please read the last set of verses again." He said "Ok let me start from Verse 14". I subsequently told him thanks and bid him farewell as I sunk in my chair steering in awe…

He subsequently became the 54th member of the DaBlue Community. ~ SO Murray

Psalm 139:14-18

King James Version (KJV)

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
