A deeper understanding of the sun, moon and stars by those of us living in the Western cultures of the world gives a better understanding of our current position in light of Scriptures.
The Hebrew people, in particular have a clear understanding of how the movement of the planets, the sun, moon and stars affect our lives.
This blog aims to reference key astronomical events occurring now coinciding with specific Hebrew Feast Days or God’s appointed days.
And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years” Genesis 1:14
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven
Let’s examine closely a bi-annual event, the Spring & Autumn Equinox; when day and night are of approximate equal duration everywhere across the entire planet.
Earth's Equator passes the centre of the Sun. So that the Sun is exactly overhead the sub solar point—the centre point of the Earth's surface. At that specific pivot point the tilt of Earth's axis is neither inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun; it’s centred.

Vernal Spring Equinox – Friday, 20 March 2015
Nissan 1 – Saturday 21 March 2015
This year’s equinox was marked by a Total Eclipse of the Sun which reached 100% totality in the North Pole. This total block on the sun at a critical pivot point marks closure and rebirth on a Grand scale; the Dawning of a new Era marked in multiple ways.
Nissan 1 – The birth of the nation of Israel & start of the Hebrew Year – Exodus 12:2
The Eclipse marked the First day of the First month of Nissan in the Hebrew Year.
The Hebrew New Year is the same as the start of the Astrological year in Aries
1st degree of Aries is ALPHA point. 29 Pisces is OMEGA point.
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and last, the beginning and the end." Revelation 22:13
Could this date also have marked the 1st Coming of Jesus- born in Bethlehem, Jerusalem?
Months of the Biblical Hebrew Calendar correspond with the 12 signs of the Zodiac

(Jewish Calendar: Months of the Jewish Year, 2010)
*NB: Some scholars identified the 12 signs of the zodiac with the 12 sons ofJacob/twelve tribes of Israel
The Jewish calendar is based on three astronomical phenomena: the rotation of the Earth about its axis (a day); the revolution of the moon about the Earth (a month); and the revolution of the Earth about the sun (a year).A new month on the Jewish calendar begins with a New Moon. The Jewish "day" starts at sunset, rather than at midnight.

The Shemittah Year
29 Elul (6th Hebrew month) marks the end of the Shemittah Year and coincides with
13 September 2015 Partial Solar Eclipse – (Visible in Africa, Atlantic, Indian Ocean)
The Shemittah is a Sabbath year observed every seven years in Judaism, in which the land isn't cultivated and debts are cancelled.
You may sow your field for six years, and for six years you may prune your vineyard, and gather in its produce,
But in the seventh year, the land shall have a complete rest a Sabbath to the Lord; you shall not sow your field, nor shall you prune your vineyard.
5. You shall not reap the after growth of your harvest, and you shall not pick the grapes you had set aside [for yourself], [for] it shall be a year of rest for the land.
Leviticus 25:3-5
In 2001, just six days after 9/11, on September 17th the US stock markets re-opened and had one of its biggest drops in history, falling 7% - 684 point drop.
In 2008, the final day of Shemittah was September 29, 2008. The biggest ever single-day stock market crash on Sept. 29, 2008 This Dow drop of 777 points obliterating $1.2 trillion in market value. (Clarke, 2014)
Will this 7 year pattern be repeated in September 2015? Should we expect to see another record-breaking stock market wipe-out?
Start of Hebrew Month of Tishre, (7th month) the holiest month of the Hebrew Year
Mon 14 September – Rosh Hashanah – Feast of Trumpets at New Moon
Autumnal Equinox- 23 September 2015
Yom Kippur 23 September 2015
Yom Kippur which means "Day of Atonement" is believed to be the last chance to change God's judgment of one's deeds in the previous year and his decisions one's fate in the coming year- Leviticus 23:2 considered the Holiest day of the Hebrew Year
Why is Yom Kippur aligned with the Autumnal Equinox in 2015; when day and night are equal everywhere?
Could this be the actual day for the 2nd coming of Jesus in the future?
Is it possible that on a future Yom Kippur Jesus returns to earth again physically (Isaiah 63:1-6; Zechariah 14:3-5; Revelation 19:11-16), finally securing real, lasting World peace.
28 September 2015 – 4th Blood Moon; completing the tetrad of 2014-2015
28 September 2015 – Feast of Tabernacles
And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. Zechariah 14:16-17
Can we expect significant shifts and changes in the geopolitics of the Middle East around these astronomical Fall signs in 2015?
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4. Their line is gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world. Psalm 19-1:4
Spring & Autumn Equinox
God’s Appointed dates as outlined in the Scriptures actually align around the Spring & Fall Equinoxes being discussed in this blog, although celebrated even today in Hebrew Tradition they do not all feature on the western Christian Gregorian calendars.
Autumnal Equinox- Friday, September 22 September 2017
Sabbath of Return - Saturday 23 September 2017
Now a great sign appeared in heaven:
a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet,
and on her head a garland of twelve stars.
Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.
REVELATION 12:1-2
Jupiter (King planet); Regulus (King star); constellation Leo (Lion – King of Judah);Virgo (Virgin Mary); Mercury (messenger angel); Venus (Mother planet); Mars (War planet)
"Shabbat Shuvah "Sabbath of Return" refers to the Sabbath/Saturday that occurs during the Ten Days of Repentance between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur
This Shabbat is named after the first word of the Haftarah (Hosea 14:2-10) and literally means "Return!"
On 9/20-21/17 Rosh Hashanah; Virgo is clothed with the Sun, the Moon is not under her feet but is in close conjunction with the sun, there is an alignment of Jupiter, the Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus and Regulus.
Three days after this alignment on 9/23/17, Virgo is “clothed with the sun,” the moon is now under her feet, and above her head are 3 planets—Mercury, Mars, and Venus, which are in alignment with the star Regulus in Leo. The 9 stars of Leo and the 3 aligning planets make the crown of 12 stars. Thus this alignment meets the criteria of the Revelation 12 sign. (Signs in the Heavens, 2012)
“Lift your eyes up to heaven and see who created all these— the one who leads out their vast array of stars by number, calling them all by name— because of his great might and his powerful strength — and not one is missing." Isaiah 40:26
Points to reflect on now
- The Bible is written on a Hebrew Calendar; most Christians live on the Gregorian calendar, how easy is it to correlate the biblical timing of events today?
- Jesus was a practising Jew, observing Jewish festivals and feast days only, how easy is it for Christians to identify and relate to these astronomical events occurring on Jewish Feast days?
- Why have all astronomical markers of Solar & Lunar Eclipses coincided with key dates celebrated and marked in Judaism for thousands of years?
- Why has Christianity tried to break the Biblical tradition of the Prophets like the Astrologer Daniel and Magi/Wise Men observing closely the movement of sun, moon and stars impacting all our lives?
11 There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.
12 Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation. Daniel 5:11KJV
What do these signs mean?
Are they simply markers to celebrate the Appointed Biblical dates?
Do they signal a changing of the Age?
No one really knows….We shall have to simply wait and see; observing more deeply all that can be seen to better understand what is unseen.
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.Acts of the Apostles1:7-8 KJV
