Your Legacy Will Live On Ruel L. Taylor

Mr Taylor was devastated by the lost of his wife and his only son who passed within a month of each other back in 2011, but was in good spirits when JC-SAHS Alumni honored him and 7 other stalwarts of Jamaica College at DaBlue Awards in Jamaica’s Golden Anniversary in August 2012. It was a pleasure to see him again and I was thrilled to spend some “one on one time” with him at his home in Mona.

Mr Ruel Taylor who was the former Principal of Jamaica College between 1971 and 1993 passed away at the age of 83 at the University Hospital of the West Indies after a brief illness. He is survived by his three daughters (our St. Andrew High School sisters) Karen, Vivienne and Joanna, daughter in law Judy Taylor, his grandchildren, relatives and loved ones. Funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as they become available.

On behalf of our JC-SAHS Alumni, I want to say; “Rest In Peace Mr. Taylor, you gave us a safe school environment to learn and play in and because of your leadership, you have overseen the graduation of thousands of Jamaica College “Gentlemen” who have made a positive contribution around the world in their respective communities. Your life is worthy of celebration. Cheers!”
