The Lord Will Provide

In Jamaica 93% of the population has access to safe water, while in the big rich United States only 73% had access to safe water in 1991. For this report, "safe water" was defined as "reasonable access to an adequate amount of safe water(including treated surface water and untreated but uncontaminated water, such as from springs, sanitary wells, and protected bore holes). In urban areas, it could include public fountain or standpipe not more than 200 meters away. In rural areas, it implies that members of the household do not have to spend a disproportionate amount of their day fetching water. An adequate amount is that needed to satisfy metabolic, hygiene, and domestic requirements - about 20 liters a day per person."
