Walter's Memoriam

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

- 1 Cor 13:4-13

A time to remember the memories of a most beautiful human being, Walter Alexander Durie, who passed away June 25, 2007 - Five sad and empty years today. Gone but never forgotten...

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.”
― J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

In Memoriam (January 6th, 1920 - June 25th, 2007)

Though absent you are very near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
Gone but not forgotten
IN LOVING MEMORY

A million times we've missed you,
A million times we've cried.
If love could have saved you,
You never would have died.

In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold an aching place,
No one could ever fill.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.

Beloved, fondly remembered..

We wonder if we ever thanked you for the sacrifices you've made. To let us have the very best? And for the simple things like laughter, smiles and times we shared? If we have forgotten to show our gratitude enough for all the things you did, then please forgive

As we look back over time we find ourselves wondering ..... Did we remember to thank you enough for all you have done for us? For all the times you were by our sides to help and support us ..... To celebrate our successes.....To understand our strengths and weaknesses.

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Show me thy way, the path to salvation. Give me strength to redeem thyself to yonder times. Hear my cry O' Lord for I feel nothing but hopelessness for thyself
