Ruel L Taylor

You have instilled in students and colleagues alike your own sense of uprightness, honesty, humility any immeasurable devotion to duty. You have been every inch a gentleman, father figure to our young men and confidant to your members of staff.

Education for you was translated in its widest sense. It was not by mere chance that you became Chairman of Urban Cricket and Table Tennis or saw you as member of the winning University Lion's Bridge Club Team.

Your colleagues in administration have always recognized your honesty, discretion and discipline and we at Jamaica College have been proud to have our principal as president of the Principals' Association, Treasurer of the Inter-Secondary Sports Association (ISSA), Principals' Representative on both the Cadet Committee as well as Overseas Examination Committee.

Under your quiet leadership the school realized many triumphs; a Rhodes and Jamaica scholarship awarded in 1987; the Schools' Challenge Trophy which gain as much prestige as first place in the Science Club Exhibition.

The victorious Sunlight Cup Cricket team, the twice holders of the Mortimer Geddes trophy with their Olympian, the Badminton team winning countless tims, our recognized football squad, all pay homage to your consistent support.

The nation owes you much, Sir.

We wish you a long, healthy retirement and God's richest blessings.
