Mariah’s live performance at the Rockefeller Center was Horrible as she sang “All I want for Christmas is You”. If I was her man I would be like “who ME, couldn’t be” .
Did I harbor the thought that I Dee could have done a WAY better job? HELL YES.. My off key and off beat voice would have maybe landed me a fishing career in the Amazon at the end of the day.:)
As I watched shocked and unable to speak I began to seek a distraction and it was then I looked to the children who were dancing behind her, filled with enthusiasm and energy. I pulled the earphones from my ears a few times and cringed. Persons in the crowd where busy videoing the performance and when the camera highlight a few members of the audience they were seen rocking to the performance. For me it does not take away her years of great singing, In fact right after my ear drums suffered the trauma I immediately went to you tube and selected the same song and listened to it.
We all go through changes in our lives and it is not fair when persons are not at their best that we should cast them out and find ways to discredit their abilities. The night was also very cold and that could have affected her voice but on the flip side she is also a professional singer so she should know the necessary steps to take to protect her voice.
Look at your life and mine and go back a few years. Do you still look the same, dress the same, talk the same and socialize the same? I wish I looked like how I looked in the 90’s. Tummy flat, butt growing and was hot in a bikini. You see we are constantly changing and evolving. Yes Mariah is a celebrity and a vocalist but isn’t she also human? Doesn’t she deserve a break and allowed to have faults like everyone else does? I think she does.
So let us support her and let her know that her years of singing will not be tarnished because of her inability to hit high notes and stay on keys instead of falling off in recent times. At times we hear of persons committing suicide and if only we knew that our simple tweets and post helped to push that person a step closer to taking their own life we wouldn’t be so quick to be unkind.
Jazz 2015 has her booked to perform here on my Island and this is an annual event held in Montego Bay that I attend. After hearing this performance I wondered how Jamaicans will react. This I am sure will have an effect on the ticket sales but to what extent I have no clue but for now I will do my part. Yes Mariah sang horrible more than once in the past couple of months BUT it should not take away from her entire singing career.
