Born in Jamaica in the year 1981 to parents Iva and Vincent Hunter in little district called Lewis Store my childhood years are filled with fond memories. I began school at an early age since my mother was a teacher at Highgate Hall Age Primary in Highgate, St. Mary and I was drawn to music as my dad had a small sound system that would fill the air with Bob Marleys albums every Sunday evening after church. Successfully passing my Common Entrance Examination in 1992 I moved on to St. Mary High School then subsequently to Marymount Business College and pursued additional Business Courses. Read More...

Life and the Highway

This morning I was a bit late to join my usual morning traffic. It really doesn’t bother me much as I would relax with my soca, my cup of coffee, my shades and just take my time going bumper to bumper until I get to work.  After a being stationary for a few minutes I quickly observed

that the lane to my left was moving and after dwindling my thumbs I decided to switch lanes and get moving. My efforts were hampered by several drivers who insisted that they would not allow me entry even though I had indicted and was carefully making the switch. Annoyed by their lack of road courtesy I decided to chill out in my own lane, be patient and let them carry on.

Within seconds my lane began to move and eventually sped up and I was passing all the drivers who never allowed me entry into the left lane.  I now had a smirk on my face as I glanced in my rear view mirror and witnessed blinking indicators and persons attempting to make a switch to the right lane. Justice was served.

The highway is like our day to day life. We get up and start living and the outcome of our day is unknown even though we have things planned out. Either way with all the stumbling blocks that you will face you just have to stay in your lane and keep going. Sometimes these stumbling blocks are good for us. If I wasn’t prevented from changing lanes I would be stuck trying to get back in my own lane when I realized the left lane wasn’t going any where although at first it may have seem that it was. For those persons who tend to stand in your way all the time, it could be for a good reason. It could be to deter you from making a huge mistake that will further delay your efforts to get to your goal.

Have a Great Day in the Traffic of life..
